A private transfer from Quba up to Khinalig — only about 60 km, but around ninety minutes, because the whole leg is mountain road.
This is the hardest driving on any of our standard routes: a steady climb through the gorge with switchbacks and steep gradients. It is also the reason people book a car rather than trying to arrange something in Quba on the day.

Frequently asked questions
Why is 60 km so slow?
Because none of it is highway. The road climbs continuously through the gorge with tight bends, and the safe pace is well below what the distance suggests.
Is it open in winter?
Not dependably. Snow can close the road at short notice. We check conditions before your date and will tell you honestly if the drive is not sensible, rather than starting it and turning back.
Should the driver wait in the village?
Usually yes — there is no reliable transport back down. Add two to three hours of waiting so you can walk around the village without watching the clock.
Can we start this leg from Baku instead?
Yes. If you are coming from Baku, book Baku to Khinalig as one journey rather than two legs — it is priced as a single run and works out simpler.
