Baku to Khinalig Transfer — Private Car, Fixed Price

A private transfer to Khinalig, one of the highest continuously inhabited villages in the Caucasus — about 230 km from Baku and four hours, because the last hour is mountain road rather than highway.

The distance is similar to Gabala but the journey is not: beyond Quba the road climbs hard through the gorge, and the driving is slower and more demanding. This is a route where the vehicle and the driver both matter.

Frequently asked questions

Why does 230 km take four hours?

The first 168 km to Quba is straightforward highway. The final 60 km climbs into the mountains with switchbacks and steep gradients, and takes about ninety minutes on its own. That last stretch is the whole character of the trip.

Can we go in winter?

Sometimes, but the mountain road is exposed to snow and can close at short notice. We will tell you the honest position close to your date rather than driving you up and turning back — and if it is not safe, we move or refund the booking.

What vehicle do you recommend?

A higher vehicle is more comfortable on the climb, and in colder months we may recommend one specifically. Any of our vehicles can do the road in good summer conditions.

Is a day trip realistic?

It is eight hours of driving return plus your time in the village, so it makes a very full day. Add at least two hours of waiting, and consider a night in Quba if you would rather not rush it.
