Land Cruiser or Changan Q05?
Four seats in both. Take the Changan Qiyuan Q05 if three bags are enough; take this one when they are not — four adults each with a case, or three with skis, camera cases or a folded pushchair on top. Ask for both on your journey and compare the two figures.
Which roads does it run, and what does it cost?
The airport and the city, the day trips to Gobustan, Shamakhi and Shirvan National Park, and the mountain roads to Quba, Khinalig, Shahdag and Lahij — the car is set up for all of them. The fare is confirmed before you book rather than printed on every row: where the table says On request, send the route and the dates and a figure comes back by message, fixed once it is given.
What is on board?
Air conditioning, bottled water and a driver who speaks English. A working car with room in it, not a lounge — if you are meeting someone who should be met in something quieter and lower, take the Mercedes S-Class.
When is a different car the better answer?
Three of you with two bags: the Hyundai Accent costs less and does the same job. Five to seven people: the Mercedes Vito, where the seats run out before the boot does. A group: the 20-seat Sprinter.
